Yobo seals Fener deal

2 September 2010-PA Sport

Everton defender Joseph Yobo has completed his move to Turkish side Fenerbahce on a season-long loan.

The deal, which includes the option to make the transfer permanent next notrhern summer, went through ahead of the closure of the Turkish transfer window after the 29-year-old agreed terms and passed a medical.

Yobo, who joined Everton from Marseille in 2002, has not played for the club this season, most recently missing the 1-0 defeat by Aston Villa last weekend with a slight thigh problem.

Yobo, who was David Moyes' first signing as Everton boss, has made nearly 200 Premier League appearances for the Toffees.

He also captained the side in Phil Neville's absence in 2007 but the form of Sylvain Distin and Phil Jagielka saw him lose his place in the first team last season.

Yobo has represented Nigeria in two FIFA World Cups, captaining the Super Eagles in South Africa.
