31 August 2012-PA Sport

AC Milan has confirmed the signing of Manchester City midfielder Nigel de Jong on a three-year deal.

The 27-year-old, who joined the English Premier League champion from Hamburg in 2009, underwent a medical before completing the move to the San Siro.

A short statement on www.acmilan.com read: "AC Milan announces that it has bought outright Manchester City's Nigel de Jong, who has signed a contract until June 30, 2015."

De Jong, who has been given the number 34 shirt, goes straight into the squad for Saturday's Serie A match at Bologna.

The Netherlands international made 137 appearances for City during his three and a half years with the club.
