Goian joins Spezia Calcio

22 August 2012-PA Sport

Rangers defender Dorin Goian has joined Serie B outfit Spezia Calcio on a one-year loan deal, the Ibrox club has confirmed.

The centre-half returns to Italy just a year after he arrived in Glasgow from Palermo.

Goian is the latest first-team player to depart the Glasgow giant, which was voted into the Third Division after being consigned to liquidation.

Maurice Edu also looks set to be heading for the exit door, with Stoke City believed to be interested.

The American midfielder - who has not featured for Rangers this season - has also been weighing up a potential move to Ipswich Town.

Boss Ally McCoist faces a race against time to bolster his squad ahead of a 12-month transfer embargo, which comes into effect on 1 September.

French defender Sebastien Faure joined the club on a three-year deal on Tuesday subject to international clearance.
