Burkina Faso midfielder Alain Traore has left Auxerre to join fellow French side Lorient on a four-year deal after passing a medical, the Brittany club says.
The 24-year-old Traore, who once had an unsuccessful trial at Manchester United, had been at Auxerre for seven years.
He scored nine goals in Ligue 1 last season but was unable to prevent Auxerre from being relegated to the second tier.
No fee has been announced for the transfer of Traore, who has been capped 22 times by his country.
