Brest has signed Caen goalkeeper Alexis Thebaux to fill the void left by Steeve Elana's departure to Lille, the Ligue 1 club announced.

Dernis leaves Montpellier for Brest

The 27-year-old, who was with the Normandy club for five years prior to its relegation last season, has signed a two-year contract with an option for a further year after a fee, reported to be in excess of 1 million euros ($1.2 million), was agreed.

He becomes Brest's seventh northern summer signing, after defenders Ismael Traore and Bernard Mendy, midfielders Kamel Chafni, Geoffrey Dernis and Abdou Sissoko - the latter returning for a second loan spell from Udinese - and forward Charlison Benschop.
