Former England international Jonathan Woodgate will attempt to revive his injury-blighted career at second-tier English club Middlesbrough after his release by Stoke.
It will be Woodgate's second spell at Middlesbrough, having spent 19 months at the northeast club between 2006-08 after ending his three-year stint at Spanish giant Real Madrid.
The 32-year-old Woodgate has long been regarded as one of England's best defenders but a series of injury problems have stopped him reaching his full potential.
He has also played for Leeds and Tottenham, while his recent spell at English Premier League team Stoke lasted only a year.
