Sydney FC showcased its impressive pre-season form with a 5-0 win in its friendly against St George.
International striking duo Kruno Lovrek and Yairo Yau both impressed in front of around two thousand fans, as coach Ian Crook sent out a strong starting side containing new recruits Lovrek, Yau Ali Abbas, Fabio and Trent McClenahan.
Lovrek opened the scoring for the visitor in the 19th minute, after Nick Carle and Joel Chianese combined crisply on the edge of the penalty area.
The roles were reversed on 30 minutes when Lovrek played Chianese in behind the St George defence with a through ball, allowing Chianese to lift the ball over the goalkeeper to make it 2-0.
Although St George managed to contain keep the scoring at bay until the break, Yau came out firing in second half.
The Panama international opening his scoring account when he powered an Abbas cross into the back of the net to take the score to 3-0.
Crook replaced almost the entire starting line up during the second half with the woes only continuing for St George as Mitch Mallia scored in the 65th minute.
Abbas was finally rewarded in the 75th minute, finding the back of the net to finish off the friendly match.
The A-League will make its LIVE free-to-air TV debut next season with the blockbuster clash between Sydney FC and Newcastle Jets on Friday 11 October on SBS 2.
