Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta is set to be sidelined for the next fortnight after suffering a leg injury while on international duty with Spain.

According to a Barca statement, Iniesta damaged the adductor muscle in his right leg during Spain's 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifying win over Georgia and will be out for between '10 to 15 days'.

Barca also announced that fullback Jordi Alba, another member of the Spain side which beat Georgia, has the flu and will undergo further tests on Friday.

Barca plays Getafe in the Primera Division this weekend before then taking on Spartak Moscow in its opening UEFA Champions League group match next Wednesday evening (Thursday morning AEST). Tito Vilanova's men then face Granada in the league the following weekend.
