Atletico Madrid striker Radamel Falcao has scored a hat trick as his team thrashed Athletic Bilbao 4-0 in the teams' first meeting since the Europa League final last season.
Falcao, who scored twice in the 3-0 victory in Romania in May, received a throw-in before dribbling past defender Mikel San Jose and chipping goalkeeper Gorka Iraizoz for the 20th-minute opening goal in the Spanish league match.
The Colombia striker's athleticism allowed him to meet Diego Godin's looping cross at the far post with an acrobatic volley to make it 2-0 in the 42nd.
Falcao created and converted a penalty in the 59th. Tiago completed the emphatic win with a rising shot into the roof of the net in the 84th.
Valladolid scored two penalties in a 2-0 win over Levante.
