Barcelona defender Eric Abidal says he has started training again, just four months after undergoing a liver transplant.
Abidal, 32, wrote 0n his Facebook page: "I have started to train again in the gym, although just for a short time."
He said his intention was to be playing again by December.
The French veteran thanked Barca fans for all their help and support since March 2011, when a cancerous tumour was detected on his liver.
Barca has not included Abidal in its initial squad for this season, and has signed Spain left-back Jordi Alba from Valencia to replace him.
However, club president Sandro Rosell and coach Tito Vilanova have made it clear they would be delighted to have Abidal - who joined from Lyon in 2007 - back in the Barca squad.
