Atletico Madrid winger Juanfran will miss the first game of the Primera Division season after spraining a knee ligament while playing for
The 27-year-old pulled up in the first half of the 2-1 friendly victory over Puerto Rico and later had X-rays and an MRI scan to determine the nature of the injury.
A statement on the Rojiblancos' official website read: "Juanfran has suffered a grade I-II sprain to the external lateral ligament of his right knee.
"He will be out of the first league match against Levante."
