Malaga claims complaints withdrawn

19 July 2012-PA Sport

Malaga claims that the complaints served by three of its players and one former player for unpaid wages have been withdrawn.

Santi Cazorla, Joris Mathijsen, Salomon Rondon and Ruud Van Nistelrooy were named in the Spanish press as those who had earlier contacted the Spanish Players' Union (AFE) to report that up to 40 per cent of their salaries from last season had not been paid.

However, a statement published on the club's website read: "Malaga football club would like to communicate that, at the expense of finalising the relevant administrative procedures, the players that had made a claim against the club have withdrawn it and agreed to a payment method that the rest of the first team squad had already agreed to."

Malaga had faced expulsion from the UEFA Champions League and even the possibility to relegation had the matter not been sorted by the end of the month.
