Brisbane maintains it is firmly focused on upsetting A-League leaders Central Coast despite the club being on a Socceroos high on Thursday.

The two-time A-League champion was buzzing after captain Matt Smith, right-back Ivan Franjic and exciting young winger Ben Halloran were drafted into Holger Osieck's extended 25-man squad for next month's East Asian Cup qualifying tournament in Hong Kong.

English-born Smith – told two weeks ago to hurry and submit his eligibility papers after being left disappointed by red tape 12 months ago – said while possible international selection was a dream, his priority remained Sunday's clash with the in-form Mariners.

"Obviously I'm very, very happy. It's something you dream of as a child," said a delighted Smith.

"To get an opportunity like this, I'm ecstatic.

"But my number one priority is the Mariners on Sunday.

"I will worry about the Socceroos on Monday."

Smith, who admitted to copping some "stick" about his English heritage in camp last year, said it had been a nervous wait after submitting the paperwork before getting a call on Monday.

"I now call Australia my home. It's my second country although I was born and raised in England – all my family now live here," he said.

"I see myself as an Australian and I will be very happy and very, very pleased and honoured if I get the chance to wear the green and gold."

Franjic expressed similar sentiments about his call-up following a strong opening to the A-League season.

"You dream about this moment. This is one step closer to my dream coming true," said Franjic who, like Smith, failed to make the cut after being in Osieck's camp last year.

"All my focus is Sunday. I'm excited about the Socceroos but right now it's all about beating the Mariners on Sunday."

Franjic said he and his two Brisbane teammates could make a statement to Osieck on Sunday.

"We want to get the Roar up where they belong higher on the table," he said.

"You feel excited but you have to worry about the job of beating the Mariners – that's still the number-one job."

FFA unveiled the strip the Socceroos will play in at the 2014 FIFA World Cup, so TWG thinks it's a perfect time to take a look at the history of the green and gold jersey over the years.
