Adelaide defender Scott Jamieson (foot) and Melbourne pair Danny Allsop (face) and Billy Celeski (hip) were deemed unfit for the crucial match after a routine medical test revealed none of the three have adequately recovered from minor injuries sustained in the fiercely contested A-league Grand Final last week.
The rest of Pim Verbeek's squad - entirely made up of A-league players - arrived in Canberra on Monday. The Group B match will be the first time the Socceroos have played in the nation's capitol for almost 13 years.
The Socceroos sit third in the group, with Indonesia second, Kuwait fourth and Oman first. The top two teams from each group of the qualification stage will progress to the 2011 Asian Cup, in Qatar.
