Killer blow ... Olyroos coach Aurelio Vidmar (Getty Images)
The Olyroos' dwindling prospects of making the 2012 London Games look to have been dealt a final blow after FIFA reversed a critical result in the Australians' qualifying group.
The peak body has ruled that Iraq fielded an ineligible player in an Olympic qualifying win last November and it awarded a 3-0 victory to United Arab Emirates.
The decision has propelled UAE to a share of the lead in the group on eight points with Uzbekistan, Aurelio Vidmar's Australia well off the pace on just three points with two qualifying matches remaining.
Even victory in the remaining matches against UAE and Iraq for the Olyroos will not be enough to win the group and qualify automatically.
