Mustafa Amini will replace Terry Antonis in the Australia U23 squad for the AFC Asian qualifiers for the 2012 London Games, Football Federation Australia announced on Friday.
Antonis was tested on Friday morning, but failed to satisfactorily complete the tasks required and as a result was ruled out of the upcoming two matches.
Antonis, who had been under a fitness cloud when the squad was announced midweek, expressed his frustration at having to stand down.
“I’m disappointed that I won’t be able to represent Australia in these games,” he said.
“I love playing for my country and was really looking forward to playing in these two important matches.
“I’m sure the boys will be able to get the job done and I wish Aurelio and the team good luck."
