Raul and Roberto Carlos have followed sporting director Jorge Valdano in expressing hope that Francesco Totti might soon become a Real Madrid player.
The Roma captain has emerged as a potential summer transfer target of the Spanish champions, even though his club would be reluctant to sell a player who is idolised in the Italian capital.
Valdano, who has a big say in the Bernabeu side's transfer dealings, said earlier this week that it would be a 'dream to see Totti and Zinedine Zidane play in the same side'.
The 27-year-old certainly fits the 'galatico' tag bestowed upon the world-class players in Madrid's line-up, and is one of few players in world football who would have no reason to feel uncomfortable in the company of Ronaldo, Zinedine Zidane, Luis Figo, Raul, Roberto Carlos and David Beckham.
Zidane preferred not to discuss the link at his press conference on Thursday, joking that Totti plays in his position.
However, both Raul and Roberto Carlos would relish the prospect of lining up alongside the Italy international.
"If he comes here in July or August, he will be well received here," Raul told newspaper Marca. "He is a player who can turn a match and who plays good football."
Meanwhile Roberto Carlos was even more generous with his praise.
"Totti is a 'galactico'," asserted the Brazilian. "He is one of the best players in the world and (Real Madrid president) Florentino Perez wants the best players."
