Crespo exits Chelsea

4 July 2008-SBS

Argentina forward Hernan Crespo has officially exited Chelsea after his contract expired at Stamford Bridge.

Crespo, 33 on Saturday, joined the Blues in 2003 and netted ten league goals in his first season for the West London side.

He never settled in London though and was loaned out to AC Milan the following season.

He returned the following season to win the 2005/2006 Premierleague title but was soon back out on loan at Inter Milan where he has spent the past two campaigns.

Crespo is now a free agent and with former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho now in charge at Internazionale, the Argentine international is reportedly keen on signing a permanent deal.

Crespo was one of the first signings made by former Chelsea boss Claudio Ranieri in 2003 after Roman Abramovich took control of the club.

"We thank Hernan for his efforts in a Chelsea shirt, and wish him well in the future," read a statement on Chelsea's website http://www.chelseafc.com.
