Itamar Batista completed Jaguares' comeback from 2-0 down to beat America 3-2 in the Mexican league.
Also, a double strike from Alvaro Gonzalez secured Puebla's 2-0 win over Monarcas, and Pumas defeated struggling Pachuca 3-1 to claim the university side's third win of the Apertura.
In the match between two bottom-placed clubs, America's Alfredo Moreno headed in the opening score in the 13th minute Azteca Stadium.
Making light of the absence of captain Salvador Cabanas, who was injured on international duty for Paraguay midweek, America moved further in front when Federico Insua scored five minutes before halftime.
A minute later, Jaguares finally replied through Andre Moreira, and Adolfo Bautista equalised in the 67th with a penalty after Sebastian Dominguez chopped down Oscar Rojas in the box.
With three minutes left, Batista combined with Rojas to slice open the America defense for the Brazilian striker to bobble home the winner.
Jaguares remain at the bottom of Group 3 and America was last in Group 2.
