Rangers midfielder Pedro Mendes has received a surprise recall to the Portugal national squad.
The 29-year-old last represented his country more than five-and-a-half years ago against Italy.
He was not expecting the call to come this time but his early form at Ibrox appears to have impressed new national team boss Carlos Queiroz.
Mendes could now feature in 2010 World Cup qualifiers against Malta and Denmark in the coming days.
The former Portsmouth and Tottenham man is one of 18 Rangers players who have been called up on international duty next week.
