W-League: Sydney edge Jets

Khamis' 24th-minute goal proved to be the only goal of the game, as Sydney were unable to convert numerous goal-scoring opportunities.

The Jets were always up against it, after Jets captain Hayley Crawford was sent off towards the end of the first half, but Alison Logue was superb in goal for the Jets, saving a penalty soon after they were a goal down.

Khamis's winner was spectacular, hitting a scorching shot past Logue from just outside the penalty box.

To the Jets credit in the second half they battled on gamely in the stifling conditions, although Sydney will rue a host of good opportunities to extend its lead.
