Central Coast Marines went back to the top of the National Youth League ladder with a comfortable 3-1 win over Brisbane Roar at Ballymore Stadium on Saturday.
Nik Mrdja, Panny Nikas and Nicholas Fitzgerald were on target for the Mariners, with Matt Mundy getting a consolation goal back for the home side.
Mrdja opened the scoring after just seven minutes with a superb individual effort through the heart of the Roar defence; while Nikas doubled the lead after 37 minutes.
Fitzgerald added a third goal in the 73rd minute, but two minutes Mundy pulled a goal back to give Roar some hope of a late charge home.
Central Coast moved level with Gold Coast at the top the NYL table, two points clear of Sydney FC, who have the bye this weekend.
