Van Bommel... Excited by prospect of returning to PSV (AAP)
Bayern Munich captain Mark van Bommel is flattered by the interest being shown in him by PSV Eindhoven, his former club.
But the 31-year-old, who bore the brunt of the criticism from Bayern's poor early-season form, will not make any decision about his future before speaking to his current club next month.
"It delights me that PSV are interested in me," Van Bommel told Omroep Brabant.
"But I have a talk with Bayern Munich next month and after that my future should be a lot clearer. Until then, it's all speculation."
Van Bommel, who played for PSV between 1999 and 2005, added: "I'm glad that PSV want me back.
"I played there for six years, and that means they were satisfied with me, that they see in me a player who can help the team.
"It's now a question of waiting and seeing how everything develops."
Van Bommel confirmed his intention to return to Eindhoven at some point before the end of his career, saying: "Of course: that's what I said when I left the club.
"PSV are a fantastic club, the greatest club in Holland. But we'll have to see when it happens. Bayern is the first party for me to speak with and after that we'll see."
