Roma captain Francesco Totti has signed a contract extension until June 2014, the Serie A club has confirmed.
The 33-year-old had been in negotiations with the Eternal City outfit regarding a new deal for the last 12 months.
Totti, a World Cup winner with Italy, has been at Roma since 1992 and would have become a free agent next northern summer.
A statement from the club read: "AS Roma and captain Francesco Totti announce they have reached an agreement to extend the contract, currently ending in June 2010, until June 2014.
"The player will receive 8.6m euros (A$13.9million) per season."
