Nik Mrdja struck twice to help Central Coast stay atop of the NYL ladder and defeat Brisbane Roar 4-3 at Bluetongue stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Matt Crowell gave the home team the lead after 23 minutes after smashing home a shot from 25 metres but Roar leveled terms just 10 minutes later through Luke Bratten.
Mrdja put his side ahead again after 38 minutes and then assisted for his side's third by setting up Brady Smith on the stroke of half-time.
Brisbane mounted a comeback after seven minutes of the second-half when Ken Dougall made it 3-2 but Mrdja sealed the victory for Mariners in the 65th minute with a spectacular free-kick from 25 metres.
Stefan Vrbesic's strike in time added-on was merely a consolation as Brisbane gallantly fell to Mariners.
