Lucas Neill was in Dubai to look for funding for his A-League club bid and not to link up with Italian club AC Milan, as has been reported.
The 30-year-old was spotted at a Milan training session, during their winter break in Dubai, ahead of their friendly with Hamburg on Tuesday but sources close to the Socceroos captain have hosed down rumours suggesting Neill will make a January transfer to the football giants.
TWG understands he was in the Middle East to look at possible finance options for his West Sydney A-League bid while a guest of reserve Milan goalkeeper and former Australia team-mate Zeljko Kalac.
Neill, 30, is expected to see out the remaining six months on his West Ham contract although it is believed the cash-strapped Premier League club are willing to off-load him on a free transfer.
Neill earns a reported basic salary of up to STG70,000 ($A143,514) a week a has been linked with a return to Blackburn, Everton and Harry Kewell's Turkish club Galatasaray.
