Bianchi returns to Boca

6 January 2009-PA Sport

Carlos Bianchi will be presented today as the new manager of Boca Juniors after the club's executive board approved his contract last night (local time) in a unanimous decision.

Bianchi has had two previous spells as coach with the Buenos Aires side, winning four domestic league championships, three Copa Libertadores title and two Intercontinental Cups. This time he will hold the manager's position, with former assistant Carlos Ischia remaining as head coach after leading Boca to their recent Apertura title.

Bianchi has signed a three-year, US$1.75 million (STG2.4 million) and will take charge of all player signings and contracts.

One of his first tasks will be the matter of Neri Cardozo, who left Boca to sign for Mexican side Jaguares without club authorisation.
