A-League newcomers North Queensland Fury have confirmed the capture of Newcastle Jets goalkeeper Justin Pasfield on a two-year deal.
The former Australian under-23 representative was signed by the Jets on a short-term deal to cover injured reserve goalkeeper Ben Kennedy last month.
But Pasfield has failed to make an appearance for the Jets with Socceroos stopper Ante Covic remaining Newcastle's No.1.
Fury coach Ian Ferguson said Pasfield would be determined to prove himself at A-League level when North Queensland's inaugural season kicks off later this year.
"He's agile and he's got plenty of heart," Ferguson said.
"Those are two big things to have in a goalkeeper and he's not the sort of player who will be satisfied until he's earned a place in the run-on team.
"He's got the drive to develop into a really solid player here at the Fury over the two seasons he's signed on for."
Pasfield was also Clint Bolton's understudy at Sydney FC for two A-League seasons but failed to make a single first-team appearance in that time.
Fred still missing for Heart
Faltering Melbourne Heart will again have to do without inspirational captain Fred for Saturday's crucial A-League game at Newcastle.
