Michel Bastos says he hopes his Bundesliga side Schalke will buy him from Lyon before his loan deal expires in June 2014.
The 29-year-old joined the Royal Blues on loan in January, hitting three goals in eight Bundesliga appearances as an attacking midfielder and Schalke has an option of buying him for 4.5 million euros ($5.53 million).
"The best thing would be if Schalke buy me, I like working with clubs on a long-term basis," Bastos, who played all of Brazil's games as a left-back at the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa, told Sport Bild.
"My family will soon be joining me from Lyon and I have sorted out a house in Dusseldorf."
But despite being eager to stay with the Gelsenkirchen-based club, Bastos has said he wants to end his career in his home country having last played for a Brazilian club in 2006.
Melbourne Heart star Massimo Murdocca says that after coming this far over the last seven rounds, the game against Newcastle Jets means "everything" to the team.
