Sebastian Coe says FIFA president Sepp Blatter once described English football as being 'run by idiots'.
Coe, who ran the London Olympics, chaired FIFA's ethics committee before working on England's failed bid to host the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
In his new autobiography, Coe says Blatter 'has always had a problem with the English game'.
According to Coe, Blatter once said to him: "Your game is run by idiots. It's not run by bright people."
England's 2018 bid received just two votes, with Russia winning the hosting rights.
Coe says 'my instinct was that Blatter always wanted Russia'.
Montanier to leave Sociedad
Real Sociedad coach Philippe Montanier is to leave the Primera Division side at the end of the season after turning down a contract extension, the Basque club has confirmed.
