Farewell strike... Walsh signs off with another goal (Getty)
Sarah Walsh scored in her final international for Australia but the Matildas were overpowered by the United States in Colorado, going down 6-2.
After a 2-1 defeat in California four days ago Australia was full of confidence and proved yet again in the opening half that it could mix it with the world's best.
A sell out crowd of 18,589 was treated to a goal-fest.
The home side led on 25 minutes with Matildas defender Servet Uzunlar deflecting Heather O'Reilly's effort into the net.
Australia hit back with two goals in quick succession to go ahead.
Lisa De Vanna made it two goals in as many games against the world's No.1 ranked women's team with a neat left-foot finish on 32 minutes after Clare Polkinghorne's driving run.

Just two minutes later veteran striker Walsh capped off her final Matildas appearance with a goal that cleared the Aussie bench. She capitalised on a defensive error in the USA defence to make no mistake from close range.
Alex Morgan levelled the scores on 43 minutes before the USA finished strongly in the second half.

Goals from Amy Wambach (53'), Morgan (63'), substitute Shannon Boxx (69) and Sidney Leroux (82') sealed a comprehensive win.
The game not only marked Walsh's farewell, in which she was given a huge ovation when replaced in the second half, it also was the final game in charge for USA coach Pia Sundhage's.

"It was another great 45 minutes, I think in the first half we weathered a bit of a storm early on, because the US came out fired up after the last game," Matildas coach Tom Sermanni said.
"We got ourselves in front and were really, really pleased with how we played in the first 45.
"The second 45, again, I think you saw the difference between a team at it’s peak, very mature and battle hardened against our team, in the very early stages of its preparation."
