Australian midfielder Massimo Luongo has signed a deal with Tottenham Hotspur that will keep him at the Premier League giant until 2014.
Spurs' official website confirmed the contract, with the 19-year-old to spend the 2012/2013 season out on loan to Championship side Ipswich.
Luongo made his first team debut for Spurs last season, replacing Brazil star Sandro in the second half of the League Cup tie against Stoke City. He missed a decisive shot in his side's penalty shootout loss.
The aspiring Socceroos player is eligible to represent Australia by birth, Italy or Indonesia, the countries of his parents' birth.
Despite representing Australia at U-20 level on two occasions, Luongo, who spent six years from 2004-2010 at NSW Premier League club APIA Leichhardt Tigers, missed out on selection for the 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
