AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic is set to complete his move to big-spending Paris Saint-Germain, where he will earn a reported €15 million ($17.9 million) a season.

PSG sporting director Leonardo confirmed that the Sweden international is due to undergo a medical on Wednesday (local time), after which he is set to put pen to paper on his contract with the Ligue 1 club.

Leonardo was quoted as telling reporters outside PSG's Parc des Princes stadium: "Tomorrow he (Ibrahimovic) will take his medical and hopefully, if all goes to plan, he will sign the contract.

"This is a big year for PSG. That a player of his calibre has come to Paris, it's enormous. This is a player who could change everything. ''

Ibrahimovic's agent Mino Raiola, meanwhile, was quoted as saying by www.leparisien.fr: "Zlatan is very excited. This is not a player that you can force to do what he doesn't want to do. He's very excited at the idea of taking on this challenge. PSG was his first choice."

Neither PSG or Milan have yet to make an announcement about the transfer on their websites, but the big-spending Ligue 1 outfit has scheduled a press conference for Wednesday afternoon.

A statement on www.psg.fr read: "A press conference will be held on Wednesday July 18th, 2012 at 3:00pm (local time) in the Parc des Princes press conference room with Nasser Al Khelaifi, Paris St Germain president and Leonardo, sporting director."

The 30-year-old Ibrahimovic, who had a contract with Milan until June 2015, was Serie A's top scorer last season, netting 28 goals as the Rossoneri finished runner-up to Juventus.

If the former Barcelona, Juve, Inter Milan and Ajax forward completes his move he will link back up with former Milan team-mate Thiago Silva, who joined PSG on Saturday.

PSG last week made a reported 65 million euros ($77.49 million) offer to Milan for Brazil defender Thiago Silva and Ibrahimovic.

Earlier this month the French outfit signed Ezequiel Lavezzi from Napoli with French media suggesting PSG paid an estimated 30 million euros ($35.76 million) for the Argentina forward.

Last northern summer PSG signed Argentina playmaker Javier Pastore from Palermo in a deal reportedly worth £37 million ($56.19 million).

Carlo Ancelotti's side finished second in Ligue 1 behind Montpellier last season.

Sammer backs injured Badstuber

Bayern Munich's director of sport Matthias Sammer expects defender Holger Badstuber to come back 'stronger than ever' after he tore cruciate knee ligaments for a second time at the weekend.
