Milan claims Niang done deal

28 August 2012-PA Sport

AC Milan claims to have won the race to sign French starlet M`Baye Niang, with stories on its official website suggesting the highly-rated 17-year-old is poised to join it ahead of Everton.

Two separate articles on the Italians' official site made reference to the Caen striker, who has already represented France at under-21 level, saying he dined with vice-president Adriano Galliani and is set to undergo a medical.

"Adriano Galliani flew into Milan last night and immediately went to a restaurant with new signing M'Baye Niang," read www.acmilan.com.

"Today he will have to pass his medical."

Everton has been heavily linked with Niang, but it appears that Milan has persuaded him to head to Italy.

Niang has been with Caen since he was 13, but only turned professional last season.

Milan also said Galliani had declined to make a move for Real Madrid midfielder Kaka - a former world player of the year during his time at the San Siro.
