Star showing... Kaka and Ronaldo showcased their considerable talents in the Big Apple (Getty)
Real Madrid beat AC Milan 5-1 in a World Football Challenge encounter at Yankee Stadium in New York.
Cristiano Ronaldo scored two second-half goals while Kaka, who has been heavily linked with a return to the Rossoneri, set up three of Real's goals in a half-hour cameo.
Angel di Maria put Jose Mourinho's side ahead with a spectacular 25-yard volley on 24 minutes before Robinho levelled the score with a first-time finish of his own in the 33rd minute.
The second-half was all Real and Ronaldo got his first goal on 49 minutes with a thumping angled left-foot strike that gave Marco Amelia no chance in the Milan goal.
It was 3-1 on 66 minutes when the Portuguese ace finished off a lighting quick counter-attack that involved Gonzalo Higuain and a neat through ball from Kaka.
Defender Sergio Ramos came off the bench to power home a header from a Kaka corner on 81 minutes.
The drubbing was capped off in the 89th minute by second-half replacement Jose Callejon, who chipped Amelia from close range after another Kaka assist.
Real Madrid faces Celtic later this week in the final World Football Challenge match before it commences its La Liga campaign on 19 August (20 August AEST) at home against Valencia. Milan's Serie A season kicks off a week later against visiting Sampdoria.
