Kim seals Jeonbuk deal

5 January 2012-PA Sport

Jeonbuk Motors has signed Korea Republic midfielder Kim Jung-woo on a three-year contract.

The 29-year-old had been a free agent after ending the season with Seongnam Ilhwa Chunma, and was a reported target for several other K-League clubs including Suwon Bluewings and Ulsan Horang-i.

"It is an honour for me to play for the champions," said the 29-year-old, who has won 66 caps and helped his country reach the second round at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. "I will do my best to help Jeonbuk win the title once more."

Kim scored 15 goals in the 2011 K-League while on military duty with Sangju Sangmu and is one of the biggest stars in the country.

He will play in the AFC Champions League for the 2011 runner-up against the Chinese, Japanese and Thai champions - Guangzhou Evergrande, Kashiwa Reysol and PEA Buriram, respectively.
