Jeonbuk motors to title

4 December 2011-PA Sport

Jeonbuk Motors defeated Ulsan Horangi to become the 2011 K-League champion.

It is a second title for the 2011 AFC Champions League runner-up, who followed up its 2-1 win at Ulsan in the first leg of the final of the playoff series on Wednesday by winning by the same scoreline at Jeonju World Cup Stadium.

Jeonbuk had a chance to take control after 20 minutes after Lee Dong-guk was brought down in the area, but the former Middlesbrough marksman hit his penalty straight at goalkeeper Kim Young-kwang.

Ulsan broke the deadlock after 56 minutes as Seol Ki-hyeon fired home from the edge of the six-yard area but, just three minutes later, Choi Chul-soon was bundled over in the box and Eninho stepped up to put Jeonbuk level on the day and back in front on aggregate.

Midway through the half, just after Ulsan's striker Lucio had seen a header hit the inside of the post and bounce into the grateful arms of Kim Min-shik in the Jeonbuk goal, the host sealed the trophy for the second time in three years.

Luiz Henrique burst free and with just the goalkeeper to beat, fired an unstoppable shot into the roof of the net leaving Ulsan with too much to do.

"I think that with this title we have become a big club," said Jeonbuk coach Choi Kang-hee.

"We will do our best next year to win the title once again."

"Ulsan gave us a very tough game and I want to applaud them. To win the title has been very difficult."
