Brazilian side Internacional has announced the signing of Diego Forlan just hours after the Uruguay striker terminated his contract with Inter Milan.

Forlan, 33, joined the Nerazzurri last season from Atletico Madrid but endured a frustrating, injury-plagued campaign, scoring two goals in 22 appearances.
Meanwhile, Palermo's Argentina defender Matias Silvestre has signed for Inter Milan in a deal worth an estimated eight million euros ($9.7 million).
The 27-year-old will replace Juventus-bound Brazilian Lucio.
Silvestre is reported to have signed a two-year loan deal worth two million euros ($2.4 million) with an option to buy fixed at six million euros ($7.25 million), according to the Italian press on Friday.
He becomes Inter's third recruit for the new season after Argentina striker Rodrigo Palacio (Genoa) and Slovenia goalkeeper Samir Handanovic.
