Palermo, meanwhile, has confirmed that centre-back Silvestre has joined Inter on a season-long loan, with the option for the Nerazzurri to make the move permanent next northern summer for an undisclosed fee.
The 27-year-old had requested a transfer after just one season at Palermo.
A statement from Palermo read: "Palermo announces it has loaned Matias Silvestre to Inter. The defender joins the Milan club on loan with a buy-out option."
Silvestre, who is under contract with the Sicilian club until June 2015, scored five goals in 29 league appearances for Palermo last season.
