Inter duo out of pre-season squad

Julio Cesar, 32, has been strongly linked with a move away from Inter after six years at the club, with Manchester United and Roma reportedly keen to acquire his services.

Stankovic, who has been linked with West Ham United, has one year left on his contract after eight seasons with the Nerazzurri.

Meanwhile, Slovenia goalkeeper Samir Handanovic has been named in the squad after the 27-year-old completed his permanent transfer from Udinese this week.

Handanovic is set to take Julio Cesar's place as Inter's number one and will join the team in training on 8 July.

Argentinian defender Matias Silvestre has also been included in coach Andrea Stramaccioni's 26-man squad after joining from Palermo this week.

Brazil defender Maicon, who is a reported target of Chelsea and Real Madrid, will join Inter in training on 9 July.

As expected, Diego Forlan has been left out of the squad with the Uruguay striker set to terminate his contract with Inter this week.

Forlan joined from Atletico Madrid last northern summer but endured a frustrating injury-plagued campaign. The 33-year-old scored two goals in 22 appearances.

Palermo, meanwhile, has confirmed that centre-back Silvestre has joined Inter on a season-long loan, with the option for the Nerazzurri to make the move permanent next northern summer for an undisclosed fee.

The 27-year-old had requested a transfer after just one season at Palermo.

A statement from Palermo read: "Palermo announces it has loaned Matias Silvestre to Inter. The defender joins the Milan club on loan with a buy-out option."

Silvestre, who is under contract with the Sicilian club until June 2015, scored five goals in 29 league appearances for Palermo last season.
