Borussia Dortmund's chief executive officer Hans-Joachim Watzke has called for the resignation of the president of football's governing body FIFA, Sepp Blatter.
In an interview made available ahead of publication on Monday in the news magazine Focus, Watzke said that he agreed with the president of the German football league, Reinhard Rauball who had earlier said that Blatter should step down.
"There are only two alternatives for Blatter to leave. Either he could step down voluntarily, or the FIFA executive could pass a vote of no confidence in him."
Watzke said that there was only one reason why the executive members still supported Blatter.
"They are not allowed to forget what he has managed to do economically for FIFA," he said.
Blatter has come under increasing pressure after he admitted that he knew that former FIFA president Joao Havelange and other executive members had received pay-backs from a former FIFA marketing partner.
