Time is up ... Felix Magath and Wolfsburg part ways (Getty)
Felix Magath's 19-month spell in charge of Wolfsburg has come to an end after his resignation was accepted and he was replaced by the club's assistant coach Lorenz-Gunther Kostner.
Magath becomes the first managerial casualty of the season with the club rooted to the foot of the Bundesliga.
Magath led Wolfsburg to the Bundesliga title in 2009, but according to a club statement, he volunteered to step aside "since the club has a predominant place in his heart" and he "did not want the club to suffer".
