History maker ... Takashi Inui celebrates his goal (Getty)
Eintracht Frankfurt has become the first promoted club to win its opening four games of the Bundesliga season after a superb solo effort by Japanese midfielder Takashi Inui secured a 2-1 victory at Nuremberg.
Inui, an off-season signing, surged past two Nuremberg defenders from the left and then went past two more before curling his shot inside the far post in the 60th minute.
Teammate Erwin Hoffer had opened the scoring in the 25th.
Sebastian Polter ensured a nervy finish for the visitor when he pulled one back with 14 minutes, heading in Hiroshi Kiyotake's free kick.
Victory also moved Frankfurt into provisional top slot in the standings.
Bayern Munich can reclaim the league lead on goal difference with a win at Schalke on Sunday (AEST).
