Korea Republic midfielder Koo Ja-Cheol is expected to be out for the next six to eight weeks after tearing ankle ligaments while playing for Augsburg in the Bundesliga.
The 23-year-old playmaker suffered the injury early in his team's 3-1 defeat at Schalke last weekend when he was tackled by Joel Matip, but he played on until he was substituted just after the break.
Koo has already been ruled out of Korea Republic's 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Uzbekistan in Tashkent with his team top of Asian qualifying Group A after beating Qatar 4-1 and Lebanon 3-0 in June.
Having captained Korea Republic's Olympic team to a bronze medal in London, Koo moved to Augsburg on loan from Wolfsburg earlier this year.
