Mandzukic opens Bayern account

18 July 2012-PA Sport

New signing Mario Mandzukic has opened his account for Bayern Munich in an 11-0 victory over a Trentino select XI.

The Croatian striker scored the fourth goal of the rout, which also included a hat-trick from Arjen Robben and the first goal in his second spell in a Bayern shirt for half-time substitute Claudio Pizarro.

Youngsters Oliver Markoutz (two) and Kevin Friesenbichler (three) were also on target with David Alaba accounting for the other goal in Bayern's training camp in northern Italy.

Wolfsburg was even more goal hungry as it saw off the challenge of Helmstedter SV 16-0.

Former Bayern striker Ivica Olic was among the scorers, as were new arrivals Bas Dost and Vaclav Pilar, as the Wolves barely broke a sweat in front of more than 3000 fans.

Elsewhere, Schalke edged past Villingen 2-0 with Jefferson Farfan and Philipp Hofmann on target while Werder Bremen beat a Tyrol select XI 6-0 with Nils Petersen among the scorers.
