Mutu heading to Ajaccio

Ajaccio has agreed personal terms with Cesena forward Adrian Mutu, the French club's president has confirmed.

The Corsican outfit has moved for the 33-year-old former Chelsea striker after the Cavallucci Marini's relegation from Serie A at the end of last season.

Ajaccio finished 16th in Ligue 1 after winning promotion from the second tier in 2011.

And the Ligue 1 club's president, Alain Orsini, told RMC: "An agreement has been reached with Mutu and his agents.

"The player is now trying to reach an agreement with Cesena."

Mutu, who has two years remaining on his contract with the Emilia-Romagna club, has also represented Inter, Verona, Parma and Juventus during his career.

Orsini added: "He's an excellent player. We would love to see him in the club colours as soon as possible."

On 28 July Mutu revealed on Twitter that he was prepared to return to his homeland, either to play for Dinamo Bucharest, for whom he played one season, or even its intercity rival Steaua.

He tweeted: "Leaving aside the past, I ask you... where do you want me to go Dinamo or Steaua?"
