Christophe Jallet's late equaliser earned Paris Saint-Germain a point in a 2-2 draw at Caen which extended its lead at the top of Ligue 1 to two points as nearest challenger Montpellier faltered.

Carlo Ancelotti's team fell behind to a Pierre-Alain Frau goal, with Javier Pastore drawing it level before Thomas Heurtaux's header restored Caen's advantage.

PSG's 12-match unbeaten run was under major threat, but Jallet chested down a Jeremy Menez cross and found the net with a half-volley.

Montpellier's eight-match unbeaten run came to an end as it was beaten 1-0 at Nancy.

Andre Luiz scored the only goal of the game from the penalty spot in the 62nd minute as Montpellier ended the game with nine men after the dismissals of Vitorino Hilton and Benjamin Stambouli.

St Etienne missed a chance to leapfrog Lille and go third as it lost 1-0 at home to derby rival Lyon at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard.

Bafetimbi Gomis' 12th league goal of the season settled it as the France forward latched on to a long ball forward from Lyon goalkeeper Hugo Lloris and fired home from long range with 10 minutes to go.

Marseille's poor run in Ligue 1 continued as Dijon boosted its bid to escape from the relegation zone with a 2-1 win at the Stade Velodrome.

Marseille put Inter Milan out of the UEFA Champions League this week but the league woes continued for Didier Deschamps' team which slipped to a fifth successive domestic defeat.

The home side went ahead early in the game through a Loic Remy penalty but Younousse Sankhare and a late penalty by on-loan Gael Kakuta piled more misery on Marseille which finished the game with 10 men after the dismissal of Nicolas N'Koulou.

Auxerre's winless run extended to 11 matches with a home defeat to Evian to keep it still three points from safety.

Thomas Kahlenberg opened the scoring with a seventh-minute volley and Kevin Berigaud sealed it for the visitor in second-half injury-time by finishing off a counter-attack.

Bordeaux and Ajaccio drew 1-1, with Cheick Diabate putting Les Girondins ahead with 20 minutes to play only for the Corsican side to hit back late on through Yoann Poulard.

Lorient came from behind to register its first Ligue 1 win since November at the expense of Brittany rival Brest.

Eden Ben Basat fired the visitor into a 10th-minute lead, but Lorient levelled through Bruno Ecuele Manga six minutes into the second period before Kevin Monnet-Paquet popped up with the winner four minutes from time.

The win eases Lorient's relegation fears after it came into the game just a point above the drop zone.
