Copenhagen holds on to win

5 August 2012-PA Sport

FC Copenhagen moved three points clear at the top of the Danish Superliga with a 2-1 win at Esbjerg.

Martin Vingaard gave the capital side a 33rd-minute lead before Andreas Cornelius doubled the advantage just past the hour mark.

Although Jacob Ankersen pulled a goal back four minutes later, the visitor held on to move three points clear of Sonderjyske - which has a game in hand - and Odense.

In the day's other game, AaB and Nordsjaelland drew 1-1 in a game which came to life in the closing stages.

Lasse Nielsen looked to have won all three points for AaB when he netted five minutes from time but Joshua John responded four minutes later - just four minutes after coming on as substitute.
