The deal will grant the stations access to talkSPORT’s expert commentary, insight and links with the biggest names in Premier League football as well as its production expertise and experience of broadcasting live sporting events.
All SBS Radio programs are available on Digital Radio in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide and Brisbane, online at SBS.com.au/radio, plus via the SBS Your Language App for iPhone and Android Smartphones. Earlier this year, talkSPORT agreed a deal with the Premier League for the exclusive package of international audio broadcasting rights for the next four football seasons (2012-2013 – 2015-2016) and with the FA for the next six seasons. In the UK, talkSPORT broadcasts 64 Barclays Premier League games per season and is also an official broadcaster of the FA Cup and England games.
Scott Taunton, Chief Executive, talkSPORT said: “talkSPORT’s coverage of the world’s most popular football league is now available to listeners around the globe. But, as an Australian, I’m particularly pleased that this agreement means football fans at home will be able to listen to our commentary on SBS as well as online at talkSPORT.com. With their strong heritage of football coverage and nationwide availability across Australia, SBS is the perfect partner for talkSPORT.”
Mandi Wicks, Director Audio and Language Content, SBS said: “We are excited to be broadcasting live EPL games in both English and Mandarin on SBS Radio.
