Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says striker Nicklas Bendtner will miss the start of the Premier League season due to a persistent groin injury.
While the Denmark international underwent surgery last November, the injury hampered his World Cup campaign.
Wenger announced Wednesday that "Bendtner will not be available for the start of the season".
Arsenal's campaign starts against Liverpool on Aug. 15.
Wenger also fears he could also be without Cesc Fabregas and Robin Van Persie. The players featured in the World Cup final and are not due back at Arsenal until Aug. 5.
Wenger says that "we will see how much buildup work is needed physically and as well how they have recovered mentally from the World Cup".
