Brighton & Hove Albion contributed three own goals to Liverpool's biggest win since September 2009 as the Reds claimed a 6-1 Anfield victory to set up an FA Cup quarter-final with Stoke City.

Liam Bridcutt twice turned the ball into his own net, the first, just before half-time after Kazenga Lua Lua had levelled Martin Skrtel's early header, proving crucial.

Lewis Dunk also scored an own goal, although Reds boss Kenny Dalglish will be more pleased that man-of-the-match Andy Carroll was also on target before setting up Luis Suarez, who had already missed a penalty he was urged to take by Dalglish.

Stevenage defied the odds and put on an impressive display to hold Tottenham Hotspur to a goalless draw in its fifth-round tie at the Lamex Stadium.

The League One side started the day 47 places below Spurs in the league ladder, but it more than held its own with some dogged tackling and confident passing in midfield.

Carlo Cudicini saved well from Scott Laird's header in the first half and Joel Byrom blasted just over in the second period while Tottenham had a goal ruled out for offside.

Crawley Town was unable to provide an FA Cup upset as 10-man Stoke City secured progression to the quarter-finals, a 2-0 winner in Sussex.

Stoke was on the backfoot for most of the opening 45 minutes and its League Two opponent went close when Peter Crouch hit his own crossbar.

Stoke's task became harder when it had Rory Delap sent off for a challenge on David Hunt after 17 minutes, but Jon Walters netted a penalty as half-time approached before Crouch added a second goal seven minutes after the restart to seal the win.
